The Journalism and Public Information Programme on New Threats during the COVID-19 Pandemic aims at enhancing the capabilities of journalists and public information professionals in the areas of justice, crime prevention and security. The programme intends to promote reliable and responsible public information given the crucial role played by media in influencing policies and civil society development.

Today, millions of people are coping with crises stemming from climate change, violent extremism, organized crime, and a general lack of vision on how to develop sustainable responses. Threats, uncertainties and socioeconomic disparities, and the need for new effective and innovative approaches are symbiotic in every corner of the world.
"Voices from Mali" aims at sharing the experiences of the Malian youth pursuing peace and justice in their communities.
UNICRI and the International Center for Counter-Terrorism (ICCT-The Hague) are implementing the project Mali (Dis-)Engagement and Re-Integration related to Terrorism (MERIT) to support efforts to prevent violent extremism, facilitate rehabilitation and reintegration of violent extremist offenders and mitigate the risk of radicalization.
The creation of the guidelines has been financially supported by the CRT Foundation. It was greatly influenced by the analysis that UNICRI conducted in its report entitled Counterfeiting: a global spread, a global threat, first published in 2007.
The publication focuses on two distinct aspects of the counterfeiting problem and both of them play a pivotal role in addressing the complex nature of counterfeiting:
